    One advantage with Rapi:T is that it runs slightly later. The last northbound Haruka leaves 22:15 but the last Rapi:t leaves 23:00 Sad thing is the Nankai airport express is only 5 minutes slower and is never overtaken by Rapi:t. So other than its art-deco stature and premium seating there isn't much to write home about the RApi:t in terms of travel time.

    Big mistake. Also, why did they want trains that only run 250 on a high speed line? The new ones have also no capacity and are even uglier. They still hold up the real high speed trains of ICE and Eurostar too. Its one big joke, all they had to do is buy some real high speed trains, make Amsterdam South the high speed station as it connects central station by metro, and clear the schiphol/central station corridor of any high speed trains/ intercities and only run sprinters on there to serve the airport. They should have bought the old eurostars that got sold off years ago instead of new unknown trains.

    I love hearing the P42 idle. The loud noise you are hearing is not the locomotive itself, but rather the HEP generator that provides A/C and power to the cars. When the locomotive isn't providing HEP, they are very quiet. You'll find these all over the United States. They might not be the fastest at 177 KMH, but they have a unique look, and they're reliable.

    It seems there are a lot of prejudice about ETR700. They are fine short distance HST. Ok, they are not the ETR400 (Frecciarossa 1000), but are fine for the Milano - Venice. I think DSB got something like Italian TAFs…

    In 1981 the French built the 1st true HST line in Europe, then they broke the world speed record on rails 3 times, 1981: 380 kph, 1990: 515 kph, 2007: 574 kph. Belgians thought "If the French did it, we can too!". They launched their own "TGV" (FYRA 250) on december 2012. Pathetic failure. Breakdowns, premature rust, pieces lost in the countryside, front hood cover, some bolts lost too... After a month of operations, less than 45% of trains ran on schedule. FYRA 250 was finally abandonned on 18 january 2013. Only one month running! Huge laugh burst in Europe...

    La veritá non la sapremo mai. LA Breda ha una tradizione di quasi 90 anni nella costruzione di composizioni bloccate. Il primo fu il ETR 200 che raggiunse nel 1932 la velocitá di oltre 200 km/h. Ed era tutta elettromeccanica pura. Bisogna capire chi ha ordinato cosa con le specifiche del cliente. Questo disastro ha sicuramente più padri. E Bombardier ha fatto di peggio. Regarding the seat issue: That had been a big complain at the beginning of the ICE4 back in 2018/19. Not only have you only tested the seat in the first class which are natuarally better but also have they changed the seats in 2020 so this are already the improved seats. Also one big issue I had on nearly all my ICE4 rides is that the power outlet is or became extrem loose so that a slim charger you usually have for your phone of tablet always falls out easily. My biggest problem with the ICE4 is that it's supposed to replace the ICs on a lot of routes which means you are paying the ICE price for a former IC route at IC speed which just makes travelling more expensive. Edit: Before people say prices from 23,90€ for first class are not bad. It's technically true, but that are the prices only when they have the "Sparpreise"/Super saver fare which usually have to be booked quiet early and are usually outside the rush hour times. If I want to book a ticket for Leipzig-Berlin rn it would be 64,90€ for 2nd call and 116,70€ for the 1st class.

    Welcome to Osaka! In the past, Nankai-Namba Sta. had a City air terminal installed, which was used until around 2000. This facility was used to transport that luggage to the airport; the JR-Haruka Express had a similar luggage transport space, and a City air terminal existed in the basement of Kyoto Station. We think it is sad to see unused space for trains nowadays. Kansai Airport and the access railroad were designed in the 1990s, when Japan's economy was booming. After the airport became operational, the economy took a sharp downturn and the number of travelers declined at a dizzying rate. And the City air terminal functions at Kyoto, Nankai Namba, and JR Namba were closed.

    • @wenlongdi1762
      @wenlongdi1762 3 дня назад

      Yeah sad to see they stopped the checkin service in the city. But Haruka doesn’t go to Namba though. The city terminal was probably set at Shin Osaka?

    • @travett
      @travett 2 дня назад

      @@wenlongdi1762 You are very knowledgeable about Japanese railroads! Yes, because the Haruka does not go through Namba, The CAT function at JR Namba station was serviced by "Kanku-special rapid train" for about 5 years after the opening of Kansai Airport. Therefore, the CAT function of the Haruka train was available from Kyoto Station. It is closed now, but the remains of the CAT ticket gate in the basement of Kyoto Station still remains. Currently, there is no direct train service from JR Namba Station to Kansai Airport. However, JR Namba Station (O-CAT) has increased its function as a bus terminal, and limousine buses to Kansai Airport and Itami Airport arrive and depart frequently. This is a very ironic event. At Shin-Osaka Station, the function of CAT was forsaken because of the short stop time of the Haruka train. If you want to know more about the unfortunate birth of JR Namba, play the following youtube with language translation. This is symbolic of the Japanese economy's fall from grace. ruclips.net/video/pEA5ektySKw/видео.html

      @@travett A problem with the _Haruka_ train until very recently was that the train bypassed the very busy JR West Osaka Station, which is part of the large transportation hub that also housed major Hankyu and Hanshin railway stations. in March 2023, JR West opened new underground platform tracks at Osaka Station, which allows passengers riding the _Haruka_ train to stop at this station.

    And yet, they've been operating normally in Italy... Not to defend a faulty project, but sometimes machines need some running-in to shave off the imperfections. Getting rid of them after a few days looks more like political hysteria.

    • @jorehir
      @jorehir 3 дня назад

      @@kavindurankoth8597 A complete overhaul would have not made economical sense. I heard of problems like doors not closing properly, which could potentially be attributed to the smallest and stupidest part. Easy corrections to make. While the main problem seemed to be related to snowy conditions, as the Dutch insisted to operate the V250 at maximum speed even in adverse weather, against the advice of the constructor. So, ice used to build up on the bottom of the trains, damaging them. Nothing fundamentally wrong with the project. Such defects could've been shaved off without drama.

Speak more slowly and accentuate the sentences more so that people can understand them. And please try to pronounce the Italian names and terms as they are in Italian, instead of droneing on about them incorrectly in English. The danger is of course how many years the roads will be dug up and risking businesses going out of business during that time. Here in Odense it seemed like forever that it was under construction and it comes no where near where we live. I'm not sure it was worth it. Recently I've been driving my car near these tracks and the lights were red for a looong time. It felt like 4 minutes or more waiting for the tram to come by. I should be more prepared to stop my engine near those areas. Or I will try to avoid these areas choosing a route that is 3 or 4 minutes longer.

    I have to say the Fyra always looked interesting. From a design standpoint I feel sad it failed, since both the V250 and it's original livery looked amazing! It's cool to see the train run in Italy now, certainly considering it took took them 4+ years to get them operational! I can't help but notice however that at 250km/h the train looks really wobbly. Not sure if that's a track or a trainset problem though.
